Frequently Asked Questions
Do players need previous experience to join?
No prior experience is necessary. Our program welcomes players of all skill levels—from beginners to advanced. Coaches adjust training intensity and instruction to suit each player’s current ability and potential.
Are the sessions open to both boys and girls?
Yes. We offer inclusive elite programs and may run mixed or separate sessions depending on player interest and availability.
Are background checks and safety certifications required for coaches?
Absolutely. All staff and coaches undergo comprehensive background checks, and must complete:
- Child protection and safeguarding training
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Concussion awareness and injury prevention courses
Player safety and well-being are always our top priority.
Are coaches trained in working specifically with youth players?
Yes. All coaches receive training in youth-specific coaching methodologies, focusing on age-appropriate physical, technical, and psychological development. They are also trained to create a positive and inclusive environment for all children, regardless of skill level
How many sessions per week should my child attend to see improvement?
At Pro90 Academy, we recommend attending between 1–3 training sessions per week, depending on your child’s goals, experience, and schedule.
- 1 session per week:
Perfect for players who want to build confidence, improve technique, and enjoy structured, high-quality coaching alongside other commitments. Even one consistent session each week can lead to steady progress over time. - 2 sessions per week:
Ideal for those looking to accelerate development. With two sessions, players can reinforce skills learned in one session and apply them in game-based drills, improving consistency, confidence, and tactical awareness. - 3 sessions per week:
Recommended for players aiming for competitive or academy-level performance. Training three times a week allows for deeper technical refinement, fitness improvement, and a stronger understanding of match situations.
No matter how many sessions your child attends, consistency is key — regular, focused training combined with good habits (rest, nutrition, and match play) leads to real progress.
How Long do these sessions last?
Each session that we run lasts for 1 hour, however if you seek extra coaching on a single day then multiple hours can run within a 1-on-1 setting.
What if I can’t commit to weekly sessions?
Even attending sessions fortnightly or monthly can make a real difference — especially when you follow the feedback and drills at home. Consistency, not frequency alone, drives progress. Our coaches can help you plan training routines between sessions to maximise development.
